Departures will be located on the third floor, which will have a large central shopping area, departure passageways and an area reserved for pre-clearance. The second floor will be used for international arrivals, immigration and the flight transfer area. This level will also include access to the car park, the flight information area, the short-stay car park and access to the Metro from the ground transportation centre. Arrivals, baggage reclaim and all services relating to ground handling and the baggage handling system will be located on the first floor. The contract award is for the construction of a building with an area of 743,000m 2 over four floors on a plot of land measuring 4, 430ha. It will have capacity for about 125 million passengers per year. The consortium will build the terminal building of the new international airport for Mexico City (NAICM) in the Federal District of Lake Texcoco after submitting the best economic and technical bid. As well as FCC, it also includes another Spanish company, Acciona, along with local Mexican companies ICA, GIA, Prodemex, Grupo Hermes and La Peninsular.
